Review of Nazarín (1959) by Mathias N — 10 May 2008
Another fine film from Bunuel's Mexican era. Many of his favorite elements are represented here; religion, freaks, sexuality etc. The Jesus-story is a little slow in the former part of the movie, but I really enjoyed the second half.
Furthermore the images are dazzling - very hard to see that this was made on a modest budget in Mexico... Recommended.
