Of course there's a lot of things missing from the series but in the second Nana, it's more toward Hachi and Nana's relationship instead of being more toward Nana-Ren like the first. There are more important elements from the series.
And I'm actually glad they changed the actor that played Shin. As much as I like Ken'ichi Matsuyama as L... he just doesn't fit as Shin.
