Review of Mysterious Skin (2005) by Hunter D — 15 Sep 2009
I am amazed. Gregg Araki has directed one of the movies I loathe the most (DOOM GENERATION) and of the movies I love the most...this one. This film is absolutely incredible, I've never experienced anything quite like it.
It's a whirlwind of emotions, full of moments that are sweet, loving, awkward, tense, sad and absolutely terrifying. I can't even express how much it moved me, and while I'm a big softie, it takes a lot for a movie to make me squirt tears, but this one did in spades.
If it doesn't move you, make sure you still have a soul.
