Review of My Fair Lady (1964) by Trisha W — 07 Jun 2009
Absolutely my favorite film of the classics that everyone should watch. I feel in love with the character of Eliza Doolittle, of the costume designs, of the scenery, of the direction, and every single song.
The entire tale was wonderfully shown with seamless entries into the songs and the songs fit perfectly with what was happening in the story, different from some films where the music is to stand on its own rather than all flow together.
I remember falling in love with the play in 12th grade when we read it, and the movie was absolutely perfect in transforming it (forgetting one major detail at the end). I can't believe it has taken me so long to watch such an incredible film, but I will definitely be sure to add it to my collection because I will definitely watch it over and over again.
