Review of My Dog Tulip (2010) by Sol H — 03 Jul 2011
An old virgin with no friends who projected all of his life onto a stupid dog rambles on for an hour and a half about how much he's in love with his dog and how if he were a dog, he'd have sex with her and so on.
It's not a bad effort though. It's reasonably entertaining despite being futile and episodic and taken as what might as well be an 'animated documentary', it sits up with the best of its subgenre. The animation is interestnig and quirky although I wouldn't say it was good exactly... it's the sort of thing I'd enjoy more as a short film rather than for an entire feature - particularly as every few minutes, it felt like the makers got bored and went into 'doodle mode' which was where they'd animated against the background of a pad of paper and the animation was even more squiggly and doodly than in the rest of the film...
But I digress, it held my attention and had a certain charm to it.
6/10.
