This is not an "award winner" but it is pure entertainment for everyone who understands (in an exaggerated fashion) living in America as the offspring immigrants. It is a delightful way to laugh at ourselves.
I, personally, loved it. I am not sure why the John Stamos character was added other than for one comedic gag and possibly name recognition draw ... if if that is the reason, the viewer would be disappointed as his character was non essential to the movie, IMO.
