Review of Mulan (1998) by Jackson W — 27 Sep 2011
Mulan, along with Lion King, is probably my favorite Disney movie of all time. The story is very revolutionary gender-wise for what it is, but the "girl power" element is subtle and doesn't slam it down your throat as in most contemporary Disney Channel films.
The music is breathtaking, especially when Mulan makes her decision to go off to war and cuts her hair. The songs "Ill make a man out of you" and "Reflection" are two of Disney's greatest.
It also has Eddie Murphy to keep the comedy element going. Absolutely nothing wrong with this classic from Disney.
