Greer Garson shines in her Best Actress Oscar-winning role as the matriach of a British family caught in the devastation of World War II. A wonderful film filled with great characters, warm family sentimentality and a good plot laced with survival.
An interesting film fact: In real-life, Garson fell in love with her co-star Richard Ney (her son in the film) and the two soon married after film's release; their tmarriage lasted for 4 years.
