Review of Mr. Jones (2013) by Brett B — 15 Dec 2014
In an age where found-footage films seem to be the go-to genre for up-and-coming, inexperienced filmmakers, I clicked this because I wanted something to mock. A two-star, indie, found-footage horror? Of course it's going to suck.
After viewing it, though, I realized that most people just didn't get it. I normally wouldn't feel comfortable with that brash of a statement, but it's the only conceivable reason for anyone to give such an expertly crafted film such a low rating.
It breathes new life into a genre that has lost itself. It's exciting, scary, superbly-acted, hyper intelligent, and beautiful. Don't listen to the negative criticism. It's the best horror flick in years.
