Comforting to know that China's highest boxing film is one that actually cost investors money. Monster Hunt uses near hollywood quality technologies to conjure up cute little monsters and pair them up with a popular cast to attract viewers.
The plan worked extremely well even though the story was not inspiring in any ways. The commercial blueprint of the film is obvious and could be found in almost every aspect of the film, but one that is not done in bad taste, and the film must be applauded for achieving that.
