Review of Monsieur Lazhar (2011) by Pedro G — 14 Apr 2012
Monsieur Lazhar Rating 9.4 - This is a wonderful Canadian film about a refugee from Algiers who takes over an elementary school class where the previous teacher hung herself. Lazhar, while he has endured much agony and pain of his own, is just what the children needed.
He is empathetic and caring and most of all a very good teacher. The film is in French with subtitles but a must see regardless.
