Review of Mike's Murder (1984) by Jeffrey P — 29 Apr 2011
Bank teller Betty (Debra Winger) is in love with erratic Mike (Mark Keyloun). One day, she's told he's been killed - and that there's much more to him than she realized. Slow pacing and a somewhat stilted tone make this mystery increasingly difficult to watch.
Director Bridges lays out the world of drugs so methodically, you'd think this film had been made ten years earlier. Ms. Winger is appealing, but it's a bit puzzling why she doesn't become truly entangled in the plot well before the final quarter.
