Very touching film. Depardieu is his usual brilliant self - thank goodness he did not make good on his threat to retire from acting. The speech he gives his foster son near the end of the film when his father comes to claim him is one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen in any movie, and if you have kids, you will be moved to tears by it as I was.
