Review of Marty (1955) by Kevin S — 25 Nov 2007
In my high school English class, we had to read the book and watch the movie, then compare the two. In those days, I didn't care for black and white movies because..well, exactly of that - they were black and white.
But the book tugged at my heart with a very familiar character: Marty. And I fell in love with the movie because I could identify so well with Marty. Marty was like a male version of myself: over-weight, not really all that attractive (physically), and just not able to find that special someone, yet, also gives hope that there's someone for everyone out there.
And sure enough, I also found my special someone. What an excellent movie that tugs at the ol' heart strings! Much love to Ernest Borgnine!
