Genuinely frightning and disturbing slasher that still divides critics to this day. Joe Spinnel gives one of the most chilling and believable performances in horror history. casual viewers can't get past the in-your-face "x" rated gore effects.
but, given half a chance, you will find a deeply involving character study. this film has yet to be topped for its visceral and emotional brutality.
