Review of Manderlay (2005) by Jules C — 05 May 2008
One of the freshest, bravest, cleverest, and well acted film i've seen in a decade. one of lars von trier's best. I liked dogville but I don't really remember it anymore. this one is stuck with me forever, I think.
and sadly, it takes a foreigner to really show the real america, because although manderlay takes place in the 1930s, much of the issues it tries to expose, the dirty, nasty puss filled reality of america is still true today.
