Review of Management (2009) by Hamel G — 13 Nov 2009
One of those "small" American movies that got lost in the ever-going blockbuster climate, the wonderful Management went straight to dvd here in Belgium. A shame really because it is truly a beautiful movie.
Its simple story about a motel employé falling head over heals for a travelling art saleswoman and going to great lenghts to win her heart, is told with such warmth and grace that it genuinely warms the heart.
At times funny, quirky, sad and sweet, it soom becomes a heartfelt romance. The chemistry between the two leads is perfect. Steve Zahn is as charming as ever. And again it becomes very clear why Jennifer Aniston is the only one who's been able to fully escape the ghost of her "friends" past.
She not only seems to have a knack for choosing solid projects, she is also a very fine actress. Her sensitive portrayal of a woman, lost and lonely but too proud to admit it, moved me more than once.
Simply adorable!
