Review of Man of the Century (1999) by Leslie S — 14 Jun 2010
If you like old movies you'll love "Man of the Century" about an ace reporter in a modern day big city who acts and thinks as if it's the 1920's. His snappy dialogue and code of chivalry contrast with potty-mouthed bad guys and liberated women of today.
He seem to carry a bubble of Old Movie Physics around him-- his punches land square, and his escapes are wonderfully implausible. Gibson Frazier as the title character captures the mannerisms of the era perfectly.
Filmed in glorious black and white.
