Review of Magic in the Moonlight (2014) by Filmsanfran — 27 Jul 2014
"Magic in the Moonlight" is a classic Woody Allen picture. Filled with charm, sophistication, and wit that is unmatched in cinema today. The film was shot beautifully by cinematographer Darius Khondji and evokes the nostalgia of summer holiday in the most lavish of locales.
It fits in with Allen's summer European sojourns and it is just as fun as his previous hits, "Midnight in Paris" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." This can be judged as a romantic comedy as well as a philosophical existential riff in a way that only Woody Allen can pull off.
