Review of Love My Life (2006) by Tara G — 05 Nov 2008
I had rented this movie and watched it last night. I had never heard of the movie (or manga) before. I had enjoyed it. It lets you into the life of Ichiko, a college student who has a girlfriend. She introduces her girlfriend to her father and finds out family secrets.
Throughout the movie, different everyday life occurrences happen to Ichiko such as being fascinated at a customer's hairstyle or talking to her best friend who has not found love yet. As she finds out more about her parents' secrets, she feels all is well except for being honest to the world about having a girlfriend.
Besides that, this movie takes patience because it is pretty much dialogue explaining the story, not much action. Seeing the life of Ichiko allows the viewer to relate in some way either with loving someone, following your dream, helping a friend, etc.
I really enjoyed the intimate scenes (only a few), the last scene was the best. It seemed Ichiko and Eri really love each other.
