It's my first Yamada film and the first one I saw of his Samurai Trilogy. I love it so much and one can certainly take it in slowly. It teaches one the fact that even an ordinary person, as the low-rank samurai in the film, can own utmost dignity and stay triumphant when it comes to setbacks.
