Review of Lost in London (2017) by Ceklewis — 05 Jul 2019
As a live technical achievement, it’s great. But as someone who watched it later on my tv at home, it’s a bad movie. I kept thinking, why bother doing this live? It’s a weird combination of cheesy hollywood writing and realistic, documentary-style camerawork.
They just don’t mesh together in my opinion. Also a minor per peeve: as a Londoner, this movie does not at all feel like London. More like London viewed through the eyes of an American tourist, which makes sense I suppose! Just rubs me up the wrong way when there’s nothing British feeling about it and every supporting character seems like an over the top caricature.
Having said that, Owen Wilson was great. Loved his performance.
