This story of struggle and adversity is a familiar story. However its a story that needs to be told again and again. The cast performances in this film are remarkable. And Cuba Gooding Jr. Oscar pedigree once again shines through.

This is a good film, period. The game of chess is used as a pawn in the film to help tell the true story perseverance and victory.
