Review of Leviathan (2014) by Marcin P — 06 Feb 2015
A cinematic bath in the sea of hopelessness.
"Leviathan" is absolutely beautiful, profound and remarkable !
The cinematography is insanely enchanting and offers to the viewer that beautiful heartbeat, which in a such a film is essential.
Andrey Zvagintsev delivers brilliant and intriguingly grim narrative that touches upon religion, the Russian Orthodox Church, power, law, friendship, human nature, and trust with amazing, unforgettable shoots of landscapes in the background.
It is one of the year's finest films and an absolute must-see!
