Review of Lemmy (2010) by Adam M — 25 Mar 2011
Lemmy's the f-ing man. That's all there is to it and this documentary proves it. A extremely nice guy who always has time for fans, loves VLT machines, collects Nazi memorabilia, is a WWII buff, STILL drinks like a fish and smokes like a chimney, and remembers what it was like before rock n' roll.
Wow. This guy was a roadie for Hendrix, partied with Sid and Nancy, and is beloved and a huge influence on everyone from Metallica to Rancid to Dave Grohl to Billy Bob Thorton, the list goes on.
This doc is equal parts hanging out with Lemmy both at home and on tour, going into the history of his career and hearing endless rock stars and celeb's tell stories and talk about how much they love and look up to the man.
It's a fascinating look at one of the most purely hard living rock legend's of all time and a fitting tribute.
