Review of Lathe of Heaven (2002) by Rich B — 16 May 2004
Lathe of Heaven (2002) ? Set in the future, this is the story of a young man whose dream visions come true (in a big way). Trying to stop himself from dreaming, he (Lucas Haas) turns to drugs, gets arrested, and is ordered to ?voluntarily? seek psychiatric treatment.
The doctor (James Caan) discovers that the Lucas? powers are real and attempts to manipulate Lucas? to the doctor?s benefit (his own personal Genie). This is the best effort I?ve seen from Lucas in a long time and James Caan was cold scary in his pursuit of wealth and power.
