Review of Lake Tahoe (2008) by Shonna N — 18 Jun 2015
Very subtle and slow paced movie. It takes place in "real" time, with anticipated time sequences. Although, time "doesn't" flow like a big budget Hollywood picture likes us to believe.
This is a good example of realistic moments - Every moment, in the boy's day. The imperfect, and average scenarios tie this piece together great. Ultimately, the calm demeanor changes into turmoil that shifts the movie unexpectedly.
Yet, the story holds a strong realization that beyond a surface level things aren't always what they appear to be. I gave this a 4 star review because of my own selfish reasons. I wanted "more" substances from each character.
Although, I know each role had their major vulnerabilities exposed. So, maybe I am wishing for just one more day in their lives.
