Review of Ladybird Ladybird (1994) by Terry M — 19 Oct 2018
Magnificent. There is no British filmmaker who makes better stunning, emotionally draining yet filled with the blunt sometimes harsh truth of the life of the British working class than Ken Loach. I understand that this film is based on a true story.
This film is emotionally rough to watch but endlessly rewarding with a REMARKABLE performance from Crissy Rock as Maggie Conian. Crissy Rock deserved an Oscar nomination if not a won for her remarkable tough, scorching and heartbreaking performance.
