Review of Kwaidan (1965) by Alanna Q — 10 Dec 2007
An elaborately crafted film containing 4 supernatural parables set in Feudal Japan...perhaps a precursor to popular modern Asian horror although a far cry from today's often shallow standards...this is a subtle and incredibly unique dreamlike experience.
..each passing moment holds a silent and heavy sense of dread...nature and the supernatural mesh into one singular bizarre realm of existence that is beautifully haunting and mystifying...this is one the most artistically profound films I have ever seen.
