Like a lot of anime, this starts out very well and is wholly compelling for the first half, then it gets verrryy complicated with random dreamlike flashbacks that explain very little. I always end up feeling a bit dumb because when these films get to that point I just lose touch with the story and end up not understanding what the *bleep* just happened.
So, great to a point but ultimately confusing and unsatisfying.
