Review of Kafka (1991) by Adam C — 12 Apr 2008
Brilliantly shot, well-designed and well-acted fictional biography of, well, Kafka which doesn't quite live up to its promise. Much like screenwriter Lem Dobbs' other paranoid fantasia, Dark City, Kafka creates a lovely, dreamy darkness, but loses itself when trying to find some sort of depth in the shadows.
Still, gorgeous to watch, and almost satisfying.
