This is easily the best DC superhero animated film I have ever seen. This is what happens when animation is driven by strong writing. I would also say it is one of the best Lovecraft theamed films too.

Good voice acting helps too. Some may find the 60s comicbook animation look a bit off putting, but I thought it helped with the 50s alternate universe vibe of it. It is an adult animation, not because of gruesome violence or explicit sex(there is none), but because of having some real adult theams.
