I thought the movie was exactly as it should be. If you don't go in with your elevated nose and puckered sphincter and go simply for the enjoyment of what the movie promises which is laughs and more than a few antics with some romance thrown in, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Critics are only human and are just giving their personal opinions but I just don't believe there's any way you can be a "professional" critic because that would require a completely objective view and as people, our personal preferences will always affect our opinions.
It's best to form your own opinions and this.. is mine :).
