Review of Juliet, Naked (2018) by Ginak — 29 Aug 2018
I knew nothing about this film before I went to see it except that it starred Ethan Hawke and Rose Byrne, two wonderful light comedy actors. And I was not disappointed. Juliet, Naked turned out to be a thoroughly entertaining, funny, character-driven film.
It is a very, very funny and very, very human romantic comedy, which I guess you would expect from a film based on a novel by Nick Hornby (author of About a Boy). But everyone deserves credit here, since a film like this is very difficult to pull off without it becoming maudlin or annoying.
Lots of fun – and very truthful too.
