Review of Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) by Kevin V — 28 May 2007
Experimental cinema to the max. I am still blown away by this film and hope that one day I may make something as well done as this. The montage and cinematogrpahy are probably the biggest factors to this.
Since it was done for the Dogma 95 almsot all locations are natural except for some lighting, so the misen sen only strengthens the rest of it. the sound is very well done too, he played a lot with it.
Hard to describe but just see it yourself. Perhaps twice. Most of this was improve, I think 60 percent of it. He has an Ode to Werner Herzog who is an actor in it.
