Review of Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead (2009) by Timothy P — 13 Oct 2008
I was a huge fan of the first movie when it came out, so even though this sequel was DtV, I was still looking forward to it. it wasn't as good as it could have been, but better then I was expecting.
The first 15 minutes and the last 15 minutes are the worst, as Rusty Nail is portrayed more as a serial killer that picks up random people on the highway and murders them for no reason, which isn't what he's like. He screws up the people that try to screw him over.
Apart from that though, the rest of the movie is near perfect for what I expect from a Joy Ride movie - Rusty Nail playing creepy mind games with the characters, with some twists I didn't see coming (Such as the bathroom abduction).
So to recap - not as good as I would have liked, but better then I expected, and if the first 15 minutes and last 15 minutes could be changed, then this could have had the potential to even be better then the first movie.
