Review of Jonah Hex (2010) by Geralds — 19 Jun 2010
I work at a movie theater; saw it free. Had to see if it was as "bad" as the critics claimed. I'm pretty new to this "graphic novel" concept but I'd have to say the running time of 1 hour and 20 minutes captivated me from start to finish.
As as veteran movie enthusiast (I'm over 60), I thought it surprising original. A good cast, supernatural elements , and "high tech artillery", it's not your father's western.
Admittedly, the playback levels were a bit high ( controllable by the projectionist) but the sound design added much realism to this new "genre". I certainly liked it a lot more than most of the over-hyped big studio productions released over the last two weeks.
