Review of Johnny Be Good (1988) by Brad W — 07 Nov 2008
Two of my favourite things helped make this movie highly enjoyable. Football and the 80's. For a movie I didn't expect much, I got a whole lot out of it. This film did a great job of satirizing the football college recruiting process and the extremes most colleges will go to bring the best players to their school.
I would have laughed a whole lot more at the silliness of this movie if I wasn't a little sad at the thought that this is what happens in the real world. Plus Uma Thurman, Anthony Michael Hall, Robert Downey Jr.
and the principal from the Breakfast Club are in it. So, you really can't go wrong with this film.
