Review of Joe's Palace (2007) by Johnny M — 05 Jan 2009
This is a beautiful film. Not quite as good as "Friends and Crocodiles" in my opinion but definatly Poliakoff at his subtle, intricate, wonderful best. Its hard to say what its about, its about people, changing times, power, lust, the fine line between beauty and the grotesque.
Yet it may not really be about any of those things, as usual Poliakoff's work is hard to pin down, but its definatly worth watching that much I am sure of.
