Review of Jesus Henry Christ (2012) by Maisie M — 23 Apr 2012
It's hard not to think of Wes Anderson when watching this film. The saturated colors, the framing of the shots (head-on shots, no-transition flashbacks, close-up montage of details), even the story! (A genius who tries to interact with his dysfunctional and problematic family.
) But that is exactly where it fails. This movie doesn't have enough story to be nowhere near "The Royal Tenenbaums". Sure, the technicals are there, but a good movie needs a good story.
