Review of Isle of the Dead (1945) by Megan H — 08 Nov 2007
A half-hearted attempt to revisit Greek myth, with shades of Antigone (and Death in Venice), hardly successful. But really it should be read as propaganda supporting modernizing American "influence" in Greece, replacing immediately British influence and eventually Greek military rule.
