Review of Ironclad (2011) by Stanley C — 17 Aug 2011
One of the bloodiest Crusader films ever made, it stars James Purefoy as a Templar Knight who leads a small band of soldiers to hold Rochester Castle against King John's large army. Insurmountable odds are against the defenders as the attackers are larger in number, have siege weapons, and have time on their side, as the siege stretches into months.
One of the most pivotal sieges in history, the battle changed the fate of England. James Purefoy gives another rousing performance as the ultimate warrior and leader as the film redefines "few stood against many.
