Review of Inequality for All (2013) by Rat M — 05 Oct 2013
In addition to what most reviewers have said about the film and Robert Reich being cogent and engaging, I found this to cut through to some of the most important truths effecting our lives today. I also appreciate that it provides a general frame work that can help us to guide policies that support the rich and the poor.
Most of the rich or would be rich still need customers to buy their products. Ultimately, we sink or swim together. I believe even Henry Ford understood this, when he began paying his workers a wage sufficient to actually buy the product they were building.
(Granted he was not always a great champion of labor). I found this to be a truly inspiring film that cut through the morass of partisan one liners. If people of all political stripes took in the substance of this film, we could have an intelligent dialogue about a way forward that was in all of our best interest.
As Mr. Reich so clearly illustrated, it is not a zero sum game.
