Noel coward, john mills & celia johnson make up the best part of this all star cast. with romance, comedy, sadness & battle this is one of the most leading war films of old! although it's posted with noel coward as director it was actually david lean who did most of the work, although coward did do all writing duties.
the focus of this film is upon innocence and dignity. most prominent war film i've seen to centre on the totallity and semi-futility of it all, but everyone knows the job has to be done.
