Review of In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011) by Ron L — 25 Dec 2011
This is a disturbing and absorbing film, one that will stay with you for days after you view it. This would have been a superb movie from almost any director. The fact this represents Jolie's debut makes it all the more noteworthy.
I knocked a star off for some clunky script issues and an occasionally unreadable subtitle (black outlines, please, to make them readable against a white background!), but don't let that keep you from seeing a really good film about a subject very few of us know outside of the daily paper.
