Review of In Search of a Midnight Kiss (2007) by Adriel T — 03 Jul 2009
The first indie movie that impressed me was Juno, followed by Once. People always say third time is a charm, and they're right. In Search of a Midnight Kiss is the 3rd indie movie that really impresses me (and it's the best amongst the 3).
The movie is, as Gordon said, raw and realistic. There's no melodramatic moments. All you see in the movie feels like the true life story of people who are desperate for love. With its black-and-white format and amateur-ish filming style, In Search of a Midnight Kiss easily engages with its audience deep into their hearts, swaying them into emotional turbulence in just 95 minutes.
After watching this movie, people will sure be able to learn that love is unexpected. It leads you to something surprising and sometimes... dangerous and complicated. You'll also learn love is strange.
It just... appears out of nowhere.
