I am so relieved to learn that Cassey Affleck announced that his film about Joaquin Phoenixâ(TM)s turn from Oscar nominated actor to rapper was a hoax. This mockumentary shows Joaquin brilliantly portraying himself as performer who is in need of some very serious help; all while trying to make it big in the hip-hop industry.
It can be a little disturbing to watch sometimes. But at the same time it serves as a great character study of a man who is continually going down hill, all while trying to do what he loves. If this film is eligible to be nominated for Oscars (Iâ(TM)m not to sure it can be seeing that itâ(TM)s a mockumentary) than Joaquin should definitely be nominated for Best Actor.
As an actor who has given so many great performances in the past, this one is his best!
