Review of Idiots and Angels (2008) by Sarah O — 21 Apr 2011
Absolutely amazing that all of this was done by hand in pencil. The animation lends itself to dream sequences and moments of hyper-reality. There is no dialogue, but the film does not need any. The music and editing are brilliant together. I didn't always care for the story, and the characters are certainly not sympathetic, but the art overrides this trivial matter :).
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Plympton after the screening and he was very kind and passionate about his work. Highly recommended!
