Review of Idiocracy (2006) by Raoul D — 25 Jan 2011
This is the most shockingly close-to-home movie I have seen. I think it is funny, yet quite telling, that the audience rating is much lower than the critic rating. I imagine that many people are insulted by some of its jokes, because Judge is laughing at them, not with them.
But for the ever-dwindling population of this planet with sense or reason, his vision of the future is dreadfully accurate. Just look at the few years that have passed since the movie and politics. Going from GW to Palin proves that we really are full speed ahead on a path to intellectual self-destruct.
