Review of I Will Follow (2010) by Matthew L — 27 Mar 2011
Bland, schmaltzy drama about a woman dealing with the death of her aunt, as she prepares to move from the home they shared. Overwrought dialogue and overly sincere performances make the film stage-y, as overbearing music overemphasizes every emotion.
It's a kind of American SUMMER HOURS, but Ava DuVernay is no Olivier Assayas.
